Amnesia: The Dark Descent (Frictional Games)

Description:
Amnesia: The Dark Descent is a first person horror game with focus on immersion. It is a game where atmosphere and story comes first.

Daniel awakens in a desolate Prussian castle without any memories to explain his situation. A letter written by himself reveals that the amnesia is actually self-inflicted. The mysterious message urges him to seek out and kill Alexander, a man residing deep below the castle. Hunted by a dark shadow, Daniel can see no other way out. If he is to save his life and mind, he needs to find out what it is all really about. It is his only hope for salvation. A dark descent awaits.

The game enables real-world physics, making interaction truly intuitive, and allows you to step inside the world of Amnesia. Pick up and manipulate almost any object, study them, and find a way to use them to your advantage. Feel the excitement of being an ordinary person trapped inside a fantastic and dangerous setting.

Forget about cutscenes and other breathers. Everything that happens, happens to you first hand. Become Daniel and uncover your past in a maze of forgotten memories.

SpyParty (Chris Hecker)

Description:
SpyParty is an intense player-skill espionage game about subtle human behavior, perception, deception, performance, information asymmetry, and managing one's attention as a resource. In the 1v1 version submitted to IGF, one player is the Spy at a fancy cocktail party, trying to blend into the crowd of NPCs, while accomplishing missions, like "Bug the Ambassador" or "Contact the Double Agent". Meanwhile, the other player is the Sniper, looking in from outside the room, trying to determine which partygoer is the Spy and stop him or her before it's too late.

Desktop Dungeons (QCF Design)

Description:
Desktop Dungeons is a ten-minute "dungeon crawl" adventure that distills the roguelike genre to its most basic components, turning it into a single-screen puzzle adventure comparable to the likes of Oasis and Tower of the Sorcerer. Using absolutely every resource at their disposal, players need to balance dungeon exploration and treasure looting against frequent combat and divine requests.

The scarcity of resources promotes innovation and broad playing styles no matter which character you pick. Wizards can club enemies, rogues occasionally have to soak damage and even the most stalwart warrior will need to pick up the odd spell glyph. The level 10 boss at the end of every dungeon run also provides players with enough of a challenge to make them fight tooth and nail for victory.

The game features an extensive unlock hierarchy which gives players access to a wide variety of character classes, races and challenge dungeons. Layers of emergent complexity and gameplay tricks afford veterans an edge in the more grueling scenarios and reward thoughtful play. For the truly ambitious, score-based "ranked" runs and an online leaderboard are also available.

WARNING: May contain traces of goat.
